We were lucky enough to get to visit Disney twice while we were in Florida. The first time the four of us went. The second time my brother and my nephew joined the kids and I while Ron worked. We loved it!

More Siesta Key
I quickly found that my favorite beach to visit was Siesta Key. It was an easy drive, easy parking and the water was so calm most of the time. The kids and I packed a Subway lunch several times and headed down for the afternoon. This day the water was so calm it was like a swimming pool. Beautiful!

Lido Beach
While Ron was working I ventured out to Lido Beach with the kids. After packing lunches, getting them loaded up and driving 30min we pulled up to the beach parking lot and it started pouring! We sat in the car for a bit to let the rain pass and then decided we would venture out to the beach anyway. The waves were rough, the red swim with caution flag was up and the wind was pelting sand in my face. But being people that live thousands of miles from a beach I felt like we couldn't just turn around and go home! I kind of felt like Clark Griswold. Here are a few pics!

Our diggs
![]()
Here are a few pics of the neighborhood we are staying in. I will get some more later. I am VERY impressed with the amenities here and would reccomend it for a vacation or snowbirds.
The "small pool" across the street from us. Nobody is ever here.
The entrance to the "club pool". A little fancier than our neighborhood pool at home!
The tennis club and tennis pro shop. The courts look super nice and they have lessons and even day camps for the kids. . To bad we don't play!
Lovely face!
My martini on the club patio. Kids were hitting some golf balls on the driving range with Ron.
Anna Maria Island
One night after Ron got off work we went for a drive out to Anna Maria Island. The beaches were beautiful and parking was a breeze. We just pulled right up and went out to the beach. We walked along the beah for a bit and then went to dinner on the water and watched the sunset. We even saw a few dolphins swim by! ![]()
Fourth of July
After a huge day at the beach before we were still tired on the 4th. We just hung around the house during the day and then spent the evening at The Galvins house. They had a "driveway party" with lots of food and lots of kids. It felt almost like home! The kids had a great time watching the fireworks and playing.![]()
